Contact and your choices

A Life Of operates this website. For questions about your information, access, correction, withdrawal of consent or deletion, contact alifeofbychante@gmail.com. We assess requests against the applicable legal basis and any records we must retain. You may also contact South Africa’s Information Regulator.

Inquiries and story suggestions

The Get Involved form prepares an email on your device. Nothing is submitted to our database by that form. If you send the email, we use your name, contact details and message to respond and, where appropriate, follow up on a story or collaboration. The Founder may record that conversation in the private story and lead register. A nomination is a suggestion, not the nominated person’s consent to be contacted, recorded or published. Please make an introduction with their permission.

Please avoid confidential workplace details and information you do not have permission to share. An inquiry does not subscribe you to marketing. We review inactive leads after 12 months and remove or minimise information that no longer has a necessary purpose.

Private Founder workspace

The Founder workspace uses Google Firebase Authentication for sign-in and Cloud Firestore for private production records. Access is restricted to explicitly authorised Founder accounts. Stories, contact details, consent status, production notes, release records and aggregate audience reports are not public. Changes to production records have an access-controlled activity history.

Sign-in uses essential browser session storage. Private production records are not deliberately cached for offline use. Downloaded exports remain the responsibility of the person who saves them. Google may process service information in other countries under its service terms and applicable transfer safeguards. See Firebase’s privacy information.

Participants and recordings

Participants receive a separate notice and a recording/publication agreement stating the intended platforms, editing scope and agreed privacy boundaries. Confidentiality and publication permission are separate decisions. Consent to an interview does not automatically permit advertising, endorsement or members-only distribution. Signed evidence and original footage are kept in the approved private production archive; the register records their status and private references. Retention is reviewed according to the agreed purpose, rights obligations and applicable law.

Audience measurement

Optional website analytics run only when a measurement service is configured and you choose to allow it. Declining does not affect access to stories. Measurement is limited to public pages; private Founder pages are excluded. Where enabled, you can change your choice using Analytics choices in the footer. We do not request GPS location or infer a visitor’s age, gender, race or other personal characteristics.

Country and city reports describe approximate aggregated locations. Demographic reports, where supplied by a connected platform, may be incomplete, withheld or unavailable. We do not identify individual viewers from those reports. Website visitors and video views measure different things and are kept separate.

Other platforms

Links to YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, TikTok and other approved channels open those services. Their own privacy settings and notices apply. Opening a link does not give A Life Of access to your personal account.

Security and retention

We minimise collected information, restrict production access and review what remains necessary. Please contact us if information needs to be corrected or removed. A disclaimer does not replace consent, confidentiality obligations or careful editorial review.
